Short answer: BPC 157 is a tissue and gut healing peptide best for injury recovery. CJC 1295 combined with Ipamorelin stimulates growth hormone release and supports body composition, sleep and recovery. Tirzepatide is a GLP-1 and GIP dual agonist used for medically supervised weight loss and metabolic health. They solve very different problems so the "best" peptide depends on your goal.

Match the Peptide to the Goal
Choose BPC 157 if:
- You have a recent soft tissue injury (tendon, ligament, muscle)
- You are recovering from surgery and want to accelerate healing
- You have leaky gut, IBS or chronic GI inflammation
- You want the shortest protocol and quickest noticeable effect for a specific injury
Choose CJC 1295 + Ipamorelin if:
- You are 35+ and noticing recovery, sleep or body composition decline
- You want broad anti-ageing and physique benefits rather than targeted injury repair
- You can commit to a 3 to 6 month protocol with consistent dosing
Choose Tirzepatide if:
- Your primary goal is weight loss or metabolic correction
- You have BMI 27+ or metabolic risk factors (pre-diabetes, elevated HbA1c)
- You have tried diet and exercise without sustained results
- You understand this is a long-term protocol with titration
Can You Stack Them?
Yes, some clients run BPC 157 and CJC 1295 + Ipamorelin together because they address different mechanisms without overlap. Tirzepatide stacks are more cautious and always require doctor supervision. The Wolverine Stack (BPC 157 plus TB 500) is our most popular recovery combination, not a replacement for CJC + Ipamorelin. See Wolverine Stack details.
What the Research Actually Says
BPC 157 has strong preclinical evidence for accelerating tendon-to-bone healing in animal studies (Chang et al., 2011). CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin together are shown in pharmacokinetic studies to produce sustained increases in GH and IGF-1 with better safety than older secretagogues (Teichman et al., 2006). Tirzepatide demonstrated a mean 20.9% body weight reduction over 72 weeks in the SURMOUNT-1 trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine (Jastreboff et al., 2022).
"Patients often ask for 'the best peptide.' The honest answer is that the best peptide is the one that matches your specific goal, your bloodwork and your ability to stick to the protocol. A perfect peptide you forget to inject is worse than a reasonable peptide you take consistently," notes Chloe Nefdt, IVgo founder and SANC-registered Professional Nurse.
Legality and Compounding in South Africa
All three peptides are legally prescribed and compounded in South Africa by registered compounding pharmacies. IVgo peptides are dispensed only after doctor consultation and baseline bloodwork. We do not sell peptides without this workflow. See our detailed BPC 157 South Africa guide for the regulatory picture.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which peptide is best for weight loss?
Tirzepatide. BPC 157 and CJC + Ipamorelin can indirectly support body composition through better recovery and growth hormone support, but they are not weight loss agents.
Which peptide is best for injury recovery?
BPC 157 for most soft tissue injuries. For severe or systemic injuries we often recommend the Wolverine Stack (BPC 157 plus TB 500) which combines local tissue repair with systemic recovery support.
Do these peptides require a prescription in South Africa?
Yes. All IVgo peptides are dispensed through a registered compounding pharmacy after doctor consultation and baseline bloodwork.
Are these peptides legal for athletes?
BPC 157 and CJC 1295 + Ipamorelin are prohibited by WADA for competitive athletes in tested sport. Tirzepatide is not on the WADA prohibited list as of 2026. Always check current status with your federation.
Can I combine BPC 157 with Tirzepatide?
Only under doctor supervision. These peptides are not contraindicated in principle, but combining them adds complexity to protocol management and side-effect attribution.
How much do peptides cost in Cape Town?
IVgo peptide pens run from R2,400 (PT 141) to R4,500 (Wolverine Stack) for a one-month supply. See the full pricing page.
